The Menahga community is grieving the loss of Egon Paul Lake, who passed away at the age of 26 on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, in South Dakota.
Egon Lake was known for a deep connection to nature and a calm, kind presence that touched many lives.
Friends and family described Egon as someone who found joy in gardening and brought quiet happiness to those around them.
In a heartfelt tribute, community member Janelle Lake shared, “Egon joined the angels this week,” while announcing a memorial garden initiative to honor that passion.
The fundraiser, held on Saturday, April 18, aims to create a lasting space where Egon’s love for nature can continue to inspire others.
Community members will gather for visitation on Monday, April 20, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, followed by a funeral service on Tuesday, April 21, at 11:00 AM at Wolf Lake Laestadian Lutheran Church.
